From: barbara (bjweinbaum) Host/Computer: 152.163.197.40 Date: Tue Sep 23 23:23:21 1997 Hi everyone! Erica - to add to your Wizard of Oz -- didn't Bobbie Sherman play Dorothy? Also, I think my cousin, Jill Rosenberg, played the Wizard. I have a picture somewhere of it. Also, hi Chuckie - to me you'll always be Chuckie -- I remember those crutches - it was 1968(my first year) and I was Wendy to your Captain Hook. And I was Lucy to your Snoopy --- "happiness is 2 kinds of ice cream, finding your skate key, climbing a tree..."I also remember Guys and Dolls because I was a hot box girl. Hi Jeff Berger!!!!! At the reunion I handed out old song sheets I hope you all have kept them because Jeff will be testing us during the next chat room. Don't forget to stand up during 1-9-4-9 when we sing your year. From: Eileen (E.Sevano) Host/Computer: 132.238.19.119 Date: Tue Sep 23 16:26:57 1997 I finally got through I was so glad that some of you were there to welcome me on Sunday night. Jeff (your cousin) Music (Berger) From: David Lebow (DavidL2984@AOL) Host/Computer: 152.163.205.217 Date: Sun Sep 21 19:48:10 1997 We live near Mar-Lin we live one hour away...I am going to bring my sons to see the camp on the lake!!! From: Chuck Weiner (CWEINER@USA.NET) Host/Computer: 206.150.72.133 Date: Sun Sep 21 09:35:04 1997 My Mar-Lin list of credits, best I can recall: I was "weevil" in some play, I sang "My name is weevil, I'm a spy..." I also played Captain Hook in Peter Pan (with crutches, torn ankle ligament, the show must go on). I also played Snoopy in Your a Good Man Charlie Brown (suppertime...) I also played Nicely, Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls (And the devil will drag you under, with a soul so heavy you'll never float, sit down, sit down, sit down...) And during the Olympics, I was Buddha, for India, carried from location to location on a flying carpet powered my 4 moaning campers aching shoulders. Hope that helps, Chuck From: Kathy (Dprx) Host/Computer: 152.163.197.36 Date: Sat Sep 20 18:41:58 1997 Where have all the campers gone? Does anyone know where Beth Freiman is? She must have a computer. She was at Mar-Lin longer than any of us. (excluding you LP!!!!) If anyone knows how to reach her, please do so. Barring any unforseen events I'll be at the Boathouse to chat. Meet you all there... From: LP (lphill7476@aol.com) Host/Computer: 152.163.194.147 Date: Thu Sep 18 07:47:30 1997 Fond summertime memories Yes, we all have great summertime memories. But remember, our parents probably had some great times during our absence..Just think, they could leave the bedroom door open, and the kitchen table wasn't just for dinner anymore. I think a website of their memories might be a little more exciting then old camp memories of kids having fun...But, then again, I don't think any of us would change any of it for the world....Keep those memories alive...... From: Betsey Wolfson (bwolfson@bikher.org) Host/Computer: 209.36.22.2 Date: Wed Sep 17 13:27:40 1997 Hello DB, LP, Carl and all you other campers with too much time on your hands. I am now on-line and hope to be able to stay in touch with other aging Mar-lin-ites. I am now working at the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Mass. Any of you who travel to western Mass. should stop by to check us out. Especially bring your grandparents or other relatives who speak Yiddish. We are in a beautiful new building on the Hampshire College campus, just south of Amherst and UMass. Pick apples in our orchard while you're here. I was at camp from '66 to '68. My fondest memories are of the counselors (male) on whom I had huge crushes. (No use wasting time on guys in Woodglen who wouldn't give me a second glance.) Where are those counselors now? From: Erica S. Bonime Host/Computer: 207.50.120.252 Date: Tue Sep 16 18:48:46 1997 Wizard of Oz Bruce Newman - I think you are having a brain fry - Chucky Weiner was not the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard - My brother Jonathan was - Carl Schwartz was the Tin Man, and Jill Weiner was the scarecrow. It must be all the Johnny Rocket Burgers you are eating! I hope to see Dave Penzell next month at the DMA convention in Chicago. I see Janet (Schwadron) Cord and Neil Feinstein and speak to Barry and Barbara as much as possible. The web site is great - Thank you to those involved with setting it up and keeping it going. I agree with Kathy Stone - the Mud fight during the 1969 Olympics was great. Uncle Charlie wasn't too thrilled with us when the water pumps all broke but ....... Is any one up for a mini reunion /get together in NYC any time soon????? Please think about it. From: Jay Eisenberg (EisenJ) Host/Computer: 152.163.197.40 Date: Tue Sep 16 18:12:11 1997 Memories Hi campers! Dave Penzel told me about the web site and it's great to read what many people I knew are now doing. Whoever came up with this idea - it's great. Does Charlie & Ethel know about this? If anyone from my years lives in S. Florida let me know. I was in camp from 72-78 - I think I'm right. Stay well everybody.
